May was a busy month and June is looking to be just as crazy. Here's what's happening at Zen Dragon....
Andrea has been a godsend... I would have never made it through May without her, but May also made us painfully aware that the tiny space we were in was just not big enough for 2 people and all of the stock and tubes we need to store.
We're in a warehouse that has small suites like ours on one side and slightly bigger suites across the hall. The super awesome dude across the hall is moving out, and we're going to take that space. That means tomorrow and the next few days will involve constructing new shelves and moving everything from one space to the other.
In addition to moving, it also became painfully apparent this last month that my way of handling lists, memos and other such needed some real updating for efficiency. I don't know how y'all spent your long weekend, but I spent mine working on setting up an inter-office system to streamline our operation so we can get orders out, reply and correct other issues faster.
I know this is a lot to read, and probably, most people won't see it, but.... for those of you who do, thank you for your patience while we reorganize and make Zen Dragon better than ever.
RE: Existing Orders - We've printed all the orders and are in the process of correcting addresses, combining where possible and notifying anyone whose order needs attention. Please be patient on pre-orders as we will not have either the bar signs or the Hampton70 prints until the 3rd week of June. Labels will be printed days in advance of shipping. Please wait until your label is scanned at the Post Office before writing us.
Also, anyone who I am in contact with on the Hampton70 Foils and AEs, I have completed my preliminary list and will be contacting you in the next couple of days.
Thanks... y'all have been pretty super this month. The #JeffWoodLove stuff healed all the wounds from the crappy stuff we had to handle. If y'all will save your framed art pics, we're going to try and set up a Collector's Gallery on the web site after we get moved.
Love and Rockets,
The Poster Mistress and her Social Media Ninja
(Judy & Andrea)
After the release of the Hampton 70 prints, it became very apparent to us that a large number of people who were at the event or connected to Col. Bruce in some way, were unable to get a print at the show or on our drop. Emotions ran high and we had to field a lot of angry emails and messages. To make matters worse, people who aren't in tune with the collector market, couldn't understand how they were already being sold for hundreds more on eBay less than a day after our sale by people who seemingly have no connection to our scene or family.
It all happened faster than we could work out a way to alleviate the demand. As with other projects, we cannot always be transparent with intentions because sometimes we don't get approvals or projects fall through. This was the case when I made the announcement about pulling prints off eBay. We were already trying to work out details to print a commemorative run of the poster to accomodate everyone who was shut out on the drop, but we could not share that until we had the approval of other parties. We have that approval now.
We ordinarily do not reprint any of our runs unless it's a tour print that sells through before a tour is complete, but the circumstances here are... well, unique, so.... we are going to do a commemorative run oof the Hampton 70 poster. The edition size will be determined by the presale which will start tomorrow, Monday, May 22 at 3pm EDT.
We realize a 2nd run may make some people unhappy, but this is for 1) the friends, fans and family who missed out on getting a print and 2) as a fundraiser to benefit the Colonel's widow.
We do not believe this run will devalue the original printing as it will be printed on different paper. In this case, it is infinitely more important to us that the people who want this print for all of the right reasons, have a chance to get one.
As I state above, there is also another good reason for this reprint. As with the posters we have already sold, a significant portion of the sales on this drop will go to a benefit for Sarah, Col. Bruce's widow. PRESALE DETAILS:
These will NOT ship until sometime in June. They are not printed yet, and we do not have a definite date for shipping. Please be aware of this before you place an order. Updates on when they will be shipped will be posted here on our blog and on our various Facebook pages. The prints will be the same except they will be printed on a pearlescent paper. The price will be $85 + $15 shipping. Edition size will be determined by the number of pre-orders we receive. This presale is going to be active until Thursday, May 25 at noon. There will be no quantity limits imposed due to this being a presale.

We are printing labels today for packages to be shipped next week. Email notifications will go out saying the USPS has been electronically notified of intent to ship a package. The Delivery Confirmation number will not work until the packages actually ship.
When we do a drop, time is of the essence for us to be able to get tubes shipped quickly. Despite having a detailed page dedicated to Shipping & Returns
on our web site, we are still spending valuable time answering emails asking why the tracking info isn't working.
We have to create labels a day or 3 in advance of actual shipping. This is not unusual for many companies. If you get a notice with a Delivery Confirmation tracking number and go to the link and it says Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS, USPS Awaiting Item
, that means we have created your label, but it has not gone to the Post Office yet.
If we're answering emails, then we're not packing tubes. Please help us do our jobs more efficiently by checking for answers to your questions in our FAQ or Shipping & Returns
pages before sending us an email.
...that many of you are very disappointed that you missed the Hampton 70 prints today. The foils sold in less than 2 minutes. Those of you who are not used to buying prints on a drop, we know it does suck when one is in your cart and then goes missing. None of the artist's cart software programs allow you to keep a print indefinitely while you are checking out. You have our heartfelt apologies, but this is how it works.
There was just way more demand for this than there were prints. We had no way of seeing the future to know that we should maybe have printed a few more. Due to the nature of limited editions, we can't just run off or print a few more to cover everyone.
Thank you for trying... and so very sorry if you missed it.
