This painting was one Jess Yen, tattoo master and my good FB friend, wanted to buy, which made no sense. It’s of a beloved ex, someone I wanted to say goodbye to with a painting. Hey, Jess, it’s now up for grabs if you still want it. The falling candy are nods to things she has tattooed all over her backside, and although I’ve had some classically bad break ups, this piercer turned librarian will always have a place in my heart. ‘Candy Girl,’ 14" x 18", oil on canvas, 2008.
