I came THIS close to meeting Rockin' JellyBean, the Japanese pop culture phenomenon, and one of the players in Jackie and the Cedrics. I was in Shibuya in 2012, paying a visit to the crew at Three Tides Tattoo, and it turns out his office was in the hallway that led to their studio. But in typical Di Donna luck, the door was closed and no one was in. Grr! ;)

RJB's career began in Tokyo in the early '90s designing gig flyers for local bands. By the late '90s, he moved to LA and released EROSTY POP; a label featuring wearable Rockin' Jelly Bean merchandise. His first shop, EROSTIKA, opened it's doors in 2004 where you can shop original prints, apparel and toys. RJB's racy artwork is shocking and playful. An international audience of cult fans continue to collect his work not only for the "boobs and butts" but the hidden messages he likes to include in his work. He hides his identity behind a luchador mask, and is one of low brow art's most colorful character.

The matting is custom, beveled matting inside, custom cut corners on the top matt, and finished in a bold silver rounded frame behind glass. I shot this as well as I could to reduce reflections.
